Time-killing activities of CERI against persisters of MRSA strain ATCC 43300 (C), VISA strain SAJ1 (D) and MSSA strain Newman (E) at concentrations of 16–128 μg/mL (1–8 × MIC). Persister cell membrane permeability was determined by SYTOX Green staining after treatment with various concentrations of CERI. (G) Detection of intracellular and extracellular ATP in S. aureus ATCC 43300 after treatment with 8–32 μg/mL of CERI for 30 min. The assays were repeated three times independently, and the results were presented as mean ± SD. Results were considered significant when *P < 0.05 and highly significant when **P < 0.01
