Hydrolysis activity profiles. The enzymatic activities of nS1, rXyn11A, the nS1 plus rXyn11A complex, and the rS1 plus rXyn11A complex toward birchwood xylan were independently determined by measuring the amount of reducing sugar released from 0.5% substrate at 60 °C. The complexes were assembled by mixing nS1 or rS1 with rXyn11A at fixed concentrations (0.5 μM). Data are presented as the means from three independent experiments. Error bars represent the standard deviations (n = 3)
