Effect of initial pH on the production of ethanol and arabitol by D. nepalensis . Time course of (a) substrate utilization, (b) growth and formation of (c) ethanol and (d) arabitol. The initial pH was varied in the range 5.0 to 7.0. Glucose was the carbon source and the cultivation conditions were same as mentioned in Figure 1. All experiments were performed three times and the values reported are mean with standard deviation.
