Autotrophic growth of WT SoF1, SoF1ΔphaA, B and C strains in 12 small-scale bioreactors. The batch phase was conducted in modified DSMZ81 media with high nitrogen concentration (16.8 mM of NH4OH). Continuous phase was started in reactors when OD600 was above 2. Same media as in batch phase was applied for continuous culture at a dilution rate of 0.01 h−1 until low nitrogen concentration (5.9 mM of NH4OH) feed was started at 304 h (dashed line)
