Resistance to sodium deoxycholate and vancomycin of C78-3 and three mutants. a Survival of C78-3, ΔtolA, ΔtolB, and ΔtolR in 0.5% sodium deoxycholate. Bacterial strains were cultivated in LB to an OD600 of 0.9. Then, the cells were resuspended in 0.5% sodium deoxycholate or PBS at 37 °C for 2 h. The survival rate was computed as (CFU in deoxycholic acid/CFU in PBS) × 100%. b Resistance to vancomycin of C78-3, ΔtolA, ΔtolB, and ΔtolR strains.
