Each spacer is represented by a combination of a character in a particular font colour, on a particular background colour. The colour combination allows each spacer to be uniquely represented, whereby squares with similar colour schemes (combination of character colour and background colour) represent identical spacers and different colour combinations represent distinguishable spacers.
