Escherichia coli CVCC 1515 was incubated for 1 h with the anti-rOmpF sera and complement (or heat-inactivated complement) (the rOmpF+ adjuvant group), the anti-PBS sera and complement (or heat-inactivated complement) (the PBS+ adjuvant group), and PBS and complement (or heat-inactivated complement) (the negative control group), respectively. Viable bacteria were counted, and data are expressed as mean ± SD. Lower case letters indicate a significant difference between two groups (p < 0.05)
