Expression of monacolin K biosynthesis-related genes during fermentation. Gene expression for various monacolin K biosynthesis-related genes was analyzed by RT-qPCR. Test samples corresponded one-to-one with samples used for monacolin K testing. Transcript levels were normalized to that of the GAPDH gene. The mRNA expression levels on day 2 in original medium were used as reference values (value: 1.0).
