  1. a Unpublished isolate obtained from an on-going epidemiological study in Portugal. Isolates were obtained after patient informed consent with the approval of ethical committee the Hospital Geral de Santo António, Porto, Portugal. Each isolate was first identified at the species level using the commercially available VITEK® two identification system using the gram-positive ID card (BioMérieux, Marcy l’Etoile, France) and molecular identification was confirmed by sequencing of the rpoB gene (Mellmann et al. 2006)
