In vivo bacterial clearance of MRSA from excision wounds in rats after treatment with CEN1 HC. Wounds infected with MRSA (4 × 107 CFU) were treated with CEN1 HC, in concentrations of 0.1, 0.5, and 2 mg/mL, and sampling/bacterial counting was performed two hours later. Results are presented as mean relative bacterial survival (%) ± SEM compared to the non-treated control group (n = 14 for all the groups, except for the group treated with 0.5 mg/mL CEN1 HC, where n = 15). One value in each group, except for the group treated with 0.5 mg/mL of CEN1 HC, were considered outliers (p < 0.01, Grubbs’ test) and were discarded. * = p < 0.05.
